Ice Show Sign Ups Now Open!

To all Brooklyn FSC skaters and families,

As registration is open next week for our spring ice show, I wanted to send out some more information regarding practice dates, times, and costs. The ice show will be Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25.

Any associate member skater wishing to skate a solo in the show must be tested at the Preliminary or Adult Bronze Free Skate/Singles test level.  Any HOME CLUB skater tested at the Pre-Preliminary or Adult Pre-Bronze Free Skate/Singles level, and all graduating seniors are also eligible for a solo.  All other skaters will be able to skate in a duet or trio. Skaters may also choose to skate in a group routine or multiple group routines, depending on level and interest.  There will be 4 club group routines as well as an opening and closing number.  Registration will open at the Brooklyn Recreation Center (in person and online) beginning Monday, February 2nd and will conclude on Monday, March 2nd. All unpaid balances with the Brooklyn Rec Center must be paid before being allowed to register. The cost for the show will depend on how many routines you would like to skate in.

BFSC member Solo/Duet/Trio Only = $45.00

BFSC member Solo/Duet/Trio + 1 group routine = $75.00

BFSC member Solo/Duet/Trio + 2 group routines = $85.00

*Any Brooklyn FSC skater that is also in Friday Brooklyn Learn to Skate classes or Saturday Power and Edges class, may also choose to skate in their level learn to skate routine.  If your child is eligible and would like to skate in a learn to skate routine, please contact me directly and do NOT sign up separately under the learn to skate sign-ups.

*The Saturday Performance Ensemble class will also skate their routine in the show.  The only cost will be the regular class fee for the spring session and the costume for anyone who still needs one. Practices will be held as usual on Saturdays in March and April from 2:15 to 3:15.

If you register for a group routine in the show, you will receive an email to confirm which routines you will be skating in, as well as information on how to order your costume(s).  Please remember to order your costumes as early as possible.  There can be back orders on certain size costumes.  If this happens, we may need to look for alternatives.  Also please make sure that you measure your skater according to the size chart before ordering!

Once again, skaters will be able to select their music AFTER they have officially registered for the show.  We will not accept song choices from anyone who is not registered.  We are using Google Forms for music sign-ups.   Skaters may choose only ONE song when filling out their selection.  There will be a list of approved songs on the BFSC website that will be updated on a regular basis.  A skater will be notified if their song is not approved. Home club members will be able to select their music beginning February 2nd and will have until March 31st to submit their choice. All associate members will have from March 1st to 31st to submit their song choice. Skaters tested at Bronze Singles (Juvenile Free) or Adult Silver and higher will have 2:00 minutes max, skaters tested Pre-Preliminary through Pre-Bronze (Pre-Juvenile Free) or Adult Pre-Bronze/Bronze will have 1:30 max, and all non-tested skaters will have 1:10 max.  To sign up for your song choice, please use the following Google Form link: https://forms.gle/U6Gq891NmDdwbSFo9

Looking forward to spring and a great show season!
