Test Session Coming to Brooklyn in November!
The Brooklyn Figure Skating Club will be hosting a test session at the Brooklyn Recreation Center on the weekend of November 14 and 15, 2020. We will have a gold panel for moves, freeskate, and dance.
To sign up, please go to this link:
Click HERE to sign up for testing.
We are closing test sign ups on Wednesday, October 14 at 11:59 PM. I will put together a preliminary schedule and see if I can accommodate any more tests. If you are still interested in testing, please email cdemarest42@gmail.com to see if there is still space.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will follow all guidelines and protocols promulgated by the State of Ohio and USFSA for the health and safety of all participants. Our priority is keeping everyone safe: skaters, judges, coaches, parents, volunteers and rink personnel. You will receive more information and detailed instructions along with the test schedule by 11/7/2020.
New Way to Sign Up/Pay for Club Ice
Club ice sessions will be sold and scheduled online this season through your membership/guest account on Entryeeze. You may first use up any punches that you still have remaining from any previous BFSC punch cards. If you are planning to come to club ice and use a paper punch, please email the club and we will save a spot for you: brooklynfscohio@gmail.com
When you are ready to buy more ice, you may purchase individual sessions at the following URL: http://comp.entryeeze.com/Membership/Welcome.aspx?cid=158
There is an added service charge with a minimum fee of $1.50 per transaction. The club will no longer accept checks or cash at the rink to walk-on. We want to keep our skaters, coaches, volunteers and parents as safe as possible. All sales are open until a session begins. Once the start time for a session passes, the computer will not allow you to purchase so please plan accordingly and buy before you get to the rink. All sales are non-refundable, but you may reschedule.
Please see current club ice cancellations to ensure ice is available.
BFSC Skaters Back in Competition!
2020 has been a crazy year for the world. Our BFSC club skaters haven’t been able to compete since March. That changed on August 14 as three BFSC skaters were able to return to the ice for competition at the 2020 Hershey Open. Congratulations to Natalie D, Aubrie H, and Savannah H! They all skated incredibly well!
Train the Trainer Seminar a Huge Success!
Our club hosted a ” Train the Trainers” seminar this afternoon for local teens interested in learning the steps necessary to become learn to skate coaches. We had a great turnout and were happy to see the next generation of coaches eager to learn!
We extend a special thanks to Amy O for helping with registration for the event as well as Coaches Chris and GraceAnn for leading the seminar. Also, thanks to the Greater Cleveland Council of Figure Skating Clubs for giving us a grant to offer this seminar.
